The Bay Snapper are starting to get picked over and are a little on the small size, but 10lbers are the norm in the Gulf on all the Public wrecks! Also the Reds have shown back up in the Pass and are biting good on the Incoming tide.

We picked our way around and slowly put a nice box of fish together. At one time we had a wad of 4 Cobia pop on us. We were able to hook all 4 and boat 3. Only one of the boated fish was a keeper and the one we lost was the biggest at probably 35lbs.Today was a test for me and I’m glad that I made a few good decisions to finish out! Some days you just get lucky I guess.

We decided to waste a little time and make a few drifts in the Pass while we waited for the weather to move on West of us. We quickly hooked into a really nice Redfish which Mr. Phillip boated after a short fight. After only a short time the weather seemed to clear and we began our trip to the Snapper Rocks. I have been fishing to the South the last few weeks but with the weather I decided to call an audible and run down to the East.
After a fairly bumpy ride we got set up and began fishing. Seemed the current was really running and made it hard to fish the bottom so we began to chunk to try and bring the Snapper to the top. It seemed like only seconds had passed and the Snapper were under the boat. We were able to cherry pick three of the nicer ones out in only three baits!!! While Mr. Converse and I were free lining the Snaps of the stern Mr. Phillip was soaking a butterflied Menhaden on the bottom. He managed to hook and land a really nice 12lb Snapper and that did it! We had our limit an off to the launch we headed.
Another great trip in the Gulf with great people! Thank you Mr. George for your continued business and I look forward to our next trip together!!

The Snapper limit was easy enough, but the Kings seemed to be a bit tricky. We caught live bait and trolled the Mass and around the bouys but never could seem to locate the fish. The redfish were a whole different story though, as soon as we got to the Pass I could tell the fish were up off the bottom and looked they may be going on a feed….. and they were.
We had a really steady bite for about an hour catching one on almost every single drift. We even managed to pull an 8lb Snapper of the rocks as a bonus!
Thanks again to the Guys for the wonderful company and the laughs! I really enjoyed myself today and hope to see you Guys again real soon
The Trout were still there, soon after arriving we boated 6-8 Specks with one being close to the 3lb range and the rest being wither solid keepers or really close!! It was a tough 4 hour trip for sure but Mr. Harless and his Daughter made a tough afternoon not seem so bad!
