The past few weeks have been fantastic on the grassflats. The water is warm and the wind has finally decided to lay down. Myself and a couple of buddies have basically been on the kayak every other day. We’re waking up at 5am to be greeted with glassy calm conditions. Time for the topwater…
We’re catching quite a few slot reds with a couple good sized trout in the mix too. I’m throwing on the edges of sand flats and also along side of mullet schools. Here’s Wade with a topwater trout.
Upper slots are abundant as well. I got this guy with the gold spoon. Solid 26 incher.
The sunset bite has been very good as well. It seems that the deeper water(3-4ft) has been holding the fish. We’re sticking with the topwater all the way till the sun goes down. Jack with a slot.
The fishing is hot! Now time for a little break. My knees are burnt!
