Once again, another beautiful day on the Water!! Today I was lucky enough to be involved in a three boat trip with Capt. Brant Peacher of Emerald Coast Fishing Excursions and Capt. Matt McLeod of Hot Spots charters. We met at Shoreline Park at 0900, picked teams and loaded up! I was joined by Jim Musicaro, Paul Schreiner and John Piraino!

We quickly fired off to towards the North rocks. We arrived to find that the Sheepshead are still there and they are still feeding. We boated fish at a pretty decent pace for about an hour when we were surprised by a BIG bite!!! After reeling all of the lines in and taking chase, we finally about 20 minutes later boated a 25# Black Drum!! This fish was a monster…. after a few snapshots the fish received a healthy release and off to fight another day!! The remainder of the trip was more of the same as we steadily boated solid fish for the remainder of the 4 hour trip. We also had two great bonus Flounders to throw on the ice as well!

I would like to say thanks again to Capt. Brant and Capt. Matt for letting me join them today!!

Another fun day! I didn’t have a charter booked today so I took my Father Danny and my little sister Brittany out on a quick catching trip! We ran to the North rocks and quickly started boating Sheepshead. It was a great day of many first, Brittany caught her first ever Sheepie and her first ever Bull Red!

It was a ton of fun watching her fight this fish on a light tackle rod that I built for her a few years ago as a Bday gift! Also the Red Snapper bite was on fire on the rocks. We must have released 5-6 fish with one be a solid 18″ fish! The bite is still on fire in the Pass and should stay hot for a few more weeks. Don’t miss out on this annual Spawn!

Great day on the water with Family and a pretty dang good fish fry afterwards!!!!!

I have been very fortunate the last few weeks to be able to take several soldiers fishing. Today was another one of those days. I was joined today by Mr. Scott Crider of Gulf Shores and SSG John Terry of the US Army. John is preparing for his sixth deployment to Afghanistan and all he wanted before deploying was to go out fishing and relax. I was honored to have the opportunity to take him.

We left Galvez launch at 7:30 and headed towards Pensacola Pass. We arrived to find a ton of boats already working the North Rocks. We weaved our way in amongst them and started battling the fish. We quickly boated sheepshead, the bite was kinda slow and the fish seemed a little picky but we stuck with em and managed a nice haul of fish.

On a serious note, I realized today the bravery and courage of these Men. SSG Terry was not wanting or expecting praise nor did he want recognition for his acts. He was a solid reminder to me that some Men are just born heroes and ALL of our service Men and Women deserve our support and most of all our RESPECT.

Thanks again to SSG Terry and to Scott Crider for taking this young man on a day of fishing before deployment!!

Let me start off by saying WOW!!! Today was an amazing day. My good friend Jason is heading off to the Army at the end of the month and was in need of some much needed Saltwater therapy!! Even though the winds were gusting close to 25 mph out of th WNW we felt we could catch a few!!

We left out of Shoreline at around 7:30am and headed to East. We fought the wind and the building chop for 4 1/2 hours without ever seeing a fish. As the weather man predicted the winds made a shift to Due North around noon and laid down to 15 mph or so. That’s when it got good. As soon as the winds died and the sun started to heat up the flats it seemed as if the Redfish came outta no where. We saw schools of fish today bigger than any I have seen in the Sound in a LONG LONG time!!

The keys to success today were working docks and structure slowly throwing GULP! shrimp and jerkshad in camo and new penny!
Great day, Great friend and Great fishing!!!!

Jason, had a great time with you today. Good luck in you future endeavors and THANK YOU for you service!!!! RLTW

Here are a few pictures from my charter on Saturday the third. We had a great time with some nice sheepsheads and some bull reds. The reds were on fire for a while, we couldn’t get a bait past them to the sheepsheads! But that was a good problem to have. All fish caught on live shrimp.

Two hours in the pass

Today’s weather was fantastic so I decided to try a short solo trip. I loaded the boat up and was on the water by 12. Arrived at the pass and dropped down at around 45ft. My only available bait was dead, warm shrimp so I wasn’t expecting much action. Much to my surprise, I was fighting fish the whole time! Within 5min of my first drop, a big bull red grabbed my line! The heavy action carrot stix did its job.

Bull red

He swam away just fine so I position for another drift. The bite was very consistent. Just about every drop was either a sheep or a red. Drift #2 gave me another bull.

As expected, the sheeps were biting everything. I’m pretty sure I missed about 10 but I still managed to bring in a few.

By 2pm, I was beat red so I decided to call it quits. It was definately a great two hours of fishing! I was pretty surprised that my near rotten shrimp did so well!
